Exodus 11:4-7, 12:5-13, 12:29-32
Exodus 12:31-32(NIV): 'During the night Pharaoh summoned Moses and Aaron and said, “Up! Leave my people, you and the Israelites! Go, worship the Lord as you have requested. Take your flocks and herds, as you have said, and go. And also bless me.”'
Pharaoh had a sudden and painful change of heart. What was it that caused this break through?
· Moses believed - Exodus 11:4-7, John 5:24
· The people obeyed - Exodus 12:12-13 & 28, Matthew 16:24
· God acted - Exodus 12:29-32, John 3:16
Pharaoh’s hard heart was no match for God. Hard hearts are either broken (Pharaoh) or humbled before God. The choice is ours.
Hebrews 3:12-13(NIV): 'See to it, brothers and sisters, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God. But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called “Today,” so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness.'
John 5:24(NIV): “Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life."
