Exodus 7:1-13; Hebrews 3:12-14

Exodus 7:13(NIV): Yet Pharaoh’s heart became hard, and he would not listen to them, just as the Lord had said.

Did God harden Pharaoh’s heart? V3

God sees the end from the beginning. Pharaoh hardened his own heart 5 times in response to the first 5 plagues, and then God allowed free will to prevail.

2 Peter 3:9(NIV): “It is not God’s will that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”

Romans 1:18-27 “Ignoring God leads to a downward spiral.” (The Message)

A hard heart is:

· Proud - Exodus 5:1-2, Hebrews 3:12-13
· Not listening - Exodus 7:13, James 1:22
· Hurts others - Exodus 12:29-32
· Ultimately Crushed - Exodus 14:27-28, Romans 6:23

Is your heart hard? Sometimes we don’t even realise.

Psalm 139:23-24: “Search me, O God and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.”

Let’s ask God to give us soft, teachable, and open hearts.
