Genesis 41:1-16, 25-40
Genesis 50:20(NIV) "You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives."
It was 13 years from the time Joseph was sold as a slave to when he became Prime Minister of Egypt. He was no longer a pretentious young upstart. God had refined Joseph’s character to the point where he could trust him and use him. What can we learn?
Joseph was –
1. Prepared v9-14, Matthew 25:10
At last the cupbearer remembers and Joseph gets his chance. He was prepared for God’s call. Are you?
2. Humble v16, John 15:5
Joseph recognised his dependence on God and he knew what gifts God had given him. Humility and confidence can go together.
3. Willing v37-40, Philippians 4:13
It was Joseph who had the plan and the passion. It was obvious that he was the man for the job. Are you willing?
4. Accountable v40b, John 14:31
Joseph was accountable to his family, Potiphar, The Prison Warden & Pharaoh
God uses team players, not lone-rangers.
Are you ready to be used by God?
Esther 4:14(NIV): "For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?”
