Acts 4:32 (MSG)
32 The whole congregation of believers was united as one—one heart, one mind! They didn't even claim ownership of their own possessions. No one said, "That's mine; you can't have it." They shared everything. The believers had a spiritual connection. They "shared everything they had." This included sharing:
• Their faith in Jesus (joy, love, peace, power, prayer)
• Their possessions
Matthew 6:24 (NIV2011)
24 “No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.
The believers in Acts learnt that their source was not in their possessions but in Jesus. It was shown by their generosity. Are you learning to be more generous?
Acts 4:34-35 (NIV2011)
34 that there were no needy persons among them. For from time to time those who owned land or houses sold them, brought the money from the sales 35 and put it at the apostles’ feet, and it was distributed to anyone who had need.
